It is hard to travel through Asia and not feel overwhelmed. After all, more than 50% of the world population lives here. Huge cities, ancient temples and cultures and tropical islands, there’s something here for every kind of traveller. We did several long trips to Asia but still have a long list of places we want to see.

Some of our strongest memories are tied to this part of the world. Hong Kong and Singapore are two of the best cities to sample the entire region in just a few days and we really recommend them to anyone visiting Asia.

Our preferred European winter getaway is Southeast Asia. If you plan a trip here, make sure you explore beyond the major tourist destinations like Thailand and Bali. Countries like Cambodia, Vietnam or Malaysia have a lot to offer and plenty of spots that are still off the beaten path.

But we also had an unforgetable trip in Japan back in 2017, the year which kickstarted our love for Asia and the countries in the region.

In the end, what keeps us coming back is more than a list of destiations and countries. It is the unique blend of cultures and history, the amazing food and the hospitality of the people that make Asia a truly special place.
