Keukenhof Gardens sits near Lisse, in between Amsterdam and The Hague, in the bulb-growing heart of the Netherlands. The exhibit opens for roughly eight weeks each spring, when the tulips, hyacinths and daffodils are at their peak. If you can time your visit around that period, it’s definitely worth spending a few hours between blooming flowers and tulip fields.

The location is well connected to most cities in the Netherlands, with frequent buses running every day from Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam and even the smaller cities. In our case we took the bus from Haarlem to Keukenhof. There are also frequent trains that stop at Lisse station, which is around 10 minutes away from the garden entrance.
